1. About Parts Scanner

Parts Scanner (partsscanner.com) is operated by Part Scanner LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17192427) with its registered office at 5 Brayford Square, London, United Kingdom, E1 0SG. We provide a price comparison and product discovery service for car parts and accessories in the United States. We aggregate product listings, prices, and availability information from third-party retailers and display them in a single, searchable interface.

We are not a retailer. Parts Scanner does not sell, stock, ship or handle any car parts. When you choose to purchase a product, you are directed to the retailer's own website where the transaction takes place entirely between you and that retailer.

2. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Parts Scanner, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

3. The service we provide

  • Vehicle lookup – You can enter your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) or select your vehicle manually to find compatible parts.
  • Price comparison – We display product listings from multiple retailers, including prices, brand names and part numbers, so you can compare options side by side.
  • Saved vehicles & lists – You can save vehicles to your "Garage" and bookmark parts to "My List" for quick reference. This data is stored locally in your browser.
  • Promo codes & deals – We show discount codes and offers published by the stores we compare.
  • Guides – We provide information about parts and maintenance to help you make informed decisions.

4. Accuracy of information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product information, prices, vehicle compatibility data, and availability shown on Parts Scanner are accurate and up to date. However:

  • Product data is sourced from third-party retailers and automotive databases. We cannot guarantee it is error-free at all times.
  • Prices displayed are indicative and may not reflect real-time changes made by retailers. The final price is always confirmed on the retailer's website at the point of purchase.
  • Vehicle compatibility information is based on industry databases and may not cover every variant or special edition. Always verify part fitment with the retailer before purchasing.
  • Guides and other editorial content are provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute professional mechanical advice. Always consult a qualified mechanic for safety-critical repairs.

5. Purchases & transactions

All purchases are made directly with third-party retailers. Parts Scanner is not a party to any transaction between you and a retailer. We do not process payments, handle returns or exchanges, or provide warranties on any products.

Any issues relating to product quality, delivery, refunds, or customer service should be directed to the retailer from whom you purchased the product. Each retailer operates under its own terms and conditions.

6. Affiliate relationships & commission

Parts Scanner participates in affiliate programmes with selected retailers, mostly through the affiliate network Commission Junction (CJ). When you click through to a store, you pass through a short Parts Scanner redirect page and then a tracking link, so the retailer can credit the visit to us. If you then make a purchase, we may earn a commission from the retailer.

CJ and the retailer may place cookies on their own websites (not on Parts Scanner) to track this referral. If a purchase is made while that cookie is valid, we may receive a commission. Parts Scanner has no control over these cookies – please refer to CJ's and the retailer's privacy and cookie policies for details.

Affiliate commission does not increase the price you pay. Our comparison results are not ranked or ordered based on commission rates.

7. Promo codes & deals

Promo codes and deals shown on Parts Scanner are set by the stores, not by us. We check them regularly, but:

  • A code may expire, sell out or be withdrawn by the store at any time, sometimes before we can update it.
  • Codes can have exclusions, minimum order values or other conditions set by the store. Where we know them, we show them.
  • Prices on Parts Scanner are the store's prices before any code. The final price, including any discount, is the one shown at the store's checkout.
  • We cannot guarantee that a code will work, and we can't apply, honour or refund a discount. Any question about a code should go to the store.

Codes marked "exclusive" are ones a store has made available through Parts Scanner. We may earn a commission when you use them, on the same terms as section 6.

8. Vehicle lookup (VIN)

Our vehicle lookup uses the VIN you provide to identify your vehicle and match it with compatible parts. The VIN is decoded by NHTSA, the US government's vehicle safety agency, into the vehicle's year, make and model, and our fitment data partner, Parts Square, matches those details to the parts in our catalog. See our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled. We may limit the number of lookups to prevent abuse.

While Parts Square provides industry-standard fitment data, we cannot absolutely guarantee that every part listed will perfectly fit your specific vehicle. You should always verify fitment and specifications with the retailer before completing your purchase.

9. Intellectual property

All content on Parts Scanner – including text, design, layout, graphics, logos, and software – is the property of Parts Scanner or its licensors and is protected by US and international copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

Product images, brand names, and trademarks displayed on Parts Scanner belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and comparison purposes only.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract data from Parts Scanner without our express written permission.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access controls.
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service.
  • Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person or entity.
  • Introduce malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful technology.

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access to any user who violates these terms.

11. Analytics & data collection

We use third-party analytics (PostHog, hosted in the EU) to understand how the service is used and to improve it. This is described in detail in our Privacy Policy, where you can also switch analytics off.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Parts Scanner is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service.
  • We are not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from your use of the service, reliance on information displayed, or transactions with third-party retailers.
  • We are not responsible for the content, products, services, or practices of any third-party websites linked from Parts Scanner.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales.

13. Availability & changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of Parts Scanner at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.

14. Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from the use of Parts Scanner shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
